Learn to grow your own.
In a morning.

We run small, hands-on microgreen workshops in Perthshire — the whole thing, from seed to harvest, in a single morning. No experience needed and no garden required.

You will sow a tray yourself, learn what separates a good crop from a mouldy one, and go home with a complete grow kit so your first harvest is already underway rather than something you mean to get round to. Places are limited on purpose, so everyone actually gets their hands in the tray.

Grow Your Own Microgreens

Bridge of Earn Institute, PH2 9EA

A hands-on morning covering everything you need to grow microgreens at home. Go home with a full grow kit and your first tray already sown.

Good to know

Before you
come along.

What will I actually learn?

Everything that takes you from a bag of seed to something you can eat. Choosing varieties, sowing density, the growing medium, watering without drowning them, light, airflow, and how to tell the exact moment to harvest. We cover the mistakes too — mould, leggy stems, patchy germination — because those are what stop most people carrying on.

What's included in the price?

A complete grow kit to take home — tray, growing medium and seed — so you leave with your first crop already sown rather than a list of things to buy. Plus refreshments, and everything you grow on the day.

Do I need any experience?

None whatsoever. Most people who come have never grown anything, and a fair few arrive convinced they will kill it. Microgreens are genuinely one of the easiest things to grow — they are ready in under three weeks, they need no garden, and a kitchen windowsill is plenty.

How many people are on each workshop?

We keep them small deliberately, so there is time for your questions and everyone gets hands in the tray rather than watching from the back. It does mean places go quickly.

Can I bring someone?

Please do — just book a place for each of you. It works well as something to do together, and you go home with two kits.

There's no date that suits me. What now?

Get in touch and we will add you to the list. We schedule new dates regularly and tell that list first, usually before they go on the website.

Can't make a date?

Tell us and we'll
let you know first.

We add new workshop dates through the year and the list hears about them before anyone else. Places are limited, so it is worth being on it.
